Things that changed for me with Work From Home

Not a coffee addict anymore

Walking to the break room and pouring myself a cup of coffee was so easy that I would easily consume 4–5 cups of coffee every day even when I did not feel sleepy or tired. This stopped when offices shut and work from home became the new norm. Making coffee takes time at home and now I make do with 1–2 cups of coffee a day.

Fitter and consistent

With traffic in Bangalore, I would reach home from work tired and irritated. A workout or even going to the gym after this was next to impossible. Parks would be closed if I wanted to run in the evening. My workouts in the morning meant waking up every day at 5 am which did not happen often. Being able to take a break from work whenever I want has helped me have a consistent yoga practice. I also can get in my morning runs without worrying about the commute.

Reading as my morning routine

I used to carpool to work which meant I couldn’t read on the commute. And sometimes I used my scooter to work which again meant no reading. The only time I ever got to read was while waiting for my friend to pick me up or before bed. But with WFH, I have started a morning routine with coffee and my favorite book. This is my me time and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else.

Upskilling baby

I am a big proponent of upskilling and believe that we as individuals should continue to learn new things every day. With extra time on my hand I studied and got myself certified as a Nutritionist. Eating healthy has always been a priority to me and I wanted to learn more about the science behind it. Now I help family and friends lead healthier life. Working as a Nutrition Coach when I am not at my full-time job has made me feel content and happy.
